Vanilla-chocolate cake

Nutrition (Approximate per Serving - 1 slice, assuming 8 slices per cake):

  • Calories: 350-400 calories
  • Carbohydrates: 45-50g
  • Protein: 4-6g
  • Fat: 18-20g
  • Fiber: 1-2g
  • Sugars: 25-30g

Prep Time: Approximately 15 minutes

Cook Time: About 40-45 minutes

Ingredients:

  • Eggs: 4
  • Flour: 1 cup
  • Baking Powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Milk Powder: 2 tablespoons
  • Cocoa Powder: 2 tablespoons
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Oil: 1 cup (or slightly less)
  • White Sugar: 1 cup

Instructions:

Preparing the Marble Cake:

  1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Prepare the Batter:

    • Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites. Use a hand mixer or whisk to beat the egg whites until they form thick foam. If the foam doesn't fall off when the bowl is upside down, the mixing is complete.
    • Gradually mix in the sugar and then add the egg yolks into the mixture. Ensure that the sugar is thoroughly blended into the mixture.
    • Add the vanilla extract and mix it in.
  3. Mixing the Dry Ingredients:

    • In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients - flour, baking powder, and milk powder.
  4. Combining Wet and Dry Ingredients:

    • Slowly add the dry mixture into the wet mixture while continuing to mix.
    • Add the oil and blend until the batter is well combined.
  5. Creating Vanilla and Chocolate Batters:

    • Separate the batter into two portions.
    • Add cocoa powder to one portion and mix well. This will create two batters: one vanilla and one chocolate.
  6. Layering the Batters:

    • Place parchment paper in your desired baking pan.
    • Pour the vanilla batter into the pan and then layer the chocolate batter on top.
    • Use a toothpick to create swirls in the batter, creating a marbled effect.
  7. Baking:

    • Bake the cake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Checking for Doneness:

  • To check if the cake is done, insert a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean with no wet batter sticking to it, the cake is ready to be taken out.

Variations:

  • You can experiment with different colors by adding food coloring to the vanilla batter to achieve the desired effect.

Enjoy your homemade Marble Cake!

Please note that the nutrition information provided is an estimate and can vary based on ingredient brands and portion sizes. The provided values are for one slice of cake when the cake is divided into 8 equal slices.
