Steps:
- Prepare the Rice: Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Once cooked, transfer the rice to a large bowl and let it cool slightly.
- Season the Rice: In a small bowl, mix the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Pour over the cooked rice and gently fold to combine. Let the rice cool to room temperature.
- Prepare the Fillings: Slice the fillings into thin strips.
- Assemble the Sushi: Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat. Spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a small border at the top. Arrange the fillings in a line along the bottom edge of the rice.
- Roll the Sushi: Using the bamboo mat, roll the nori tightly around the fillings, pressing gently to shape. Seal the edge with a little water.
- Slice and Serve: Cut the roll into bite-sized pieces using a sharp knife. Serve with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi.
